LMLS Short Courses (Available only for non-visa students)
Our short courses are designed for those who wish to seek advance knowledge in their selected area. These courses give an insight of the subject and how it is useful in professional working environment. The idea is to develop exiting skills of existing employers to be able to perform better at work, and also to equip those who are seeking employment with the skills that will expand their portfolio, thus increasing their chances to secure a position in their chosen industry.
Every unit is complete in itself and a certificate will be issued on its successful completion. However, all 6 units in an area can also be taken as a one year full diploma course. For details please see relevant page on our website.
Our short courses are designed as follows for every unit:
Duration: 30 academic hours tutoring and 60 hours of self-study
Method: Classroom based interactive
Workload: 5 hours a week / weekdays evening
Entry Requirements: Minimum 18 years of age
- with a high school pass, or
- at least 1 year of work experience in the selected area, and
- a basic command of English Language (CEFR B1 level)
Assessment: Each unit will be assessed by an exam with multiple choice questions OR by a short essay
Fee: 1.200€ per module payable in advance with 10% discount, or in 3 equal weekly installments

Business Management Units
- Research and Academic Writing (BM1-RAW)
This course is designed to introduce its learner to the skills of research in an area and then how to produce reports based on that research. It is beneficial for those who have duties at work to present reports to senior management for decision making. This course helps in producing effect and coherent reports after a study is done in a particular area.
02. Business Environment (BM2-BE)
Every business around the globe interacts with its environments and its success depends on a how successful is that interaction to achieve its targets and objectives. This unit gives an in-depth understanding of environments that business usually interact with and helps its learners to work around it in a better way to achieve results.
03. Business Communication (BM3-BC)
Communication has developed as a science in recent times. The art of representing yourself and understanding the other has advanced to a level where no business can thrive without it. Transmitting and receiving standardised and channalised communication not just reduces the risk of wrong decision making on inaccurately understood information, it also saves vital resources like time. Learner of this unit will equip himself/herself with the art of how to communicate well in business and therefore contribute in effective decision making while saving resources.
04. Quantitative Methods (BM4-QM)
These methods are vital for any business first to collect data from the market and environments and then analysing it to understand the trends, demands and moods in the business marketplace. By studying this unit a learner will be introduced to the methods used to collect data and techniques to analyse that data to produce objective reports which will help a business to determine its performance, set goals or define procedures to improve its performance.
05. Business Functions (BM5-BF)
Business Functions are business processes and they are interdependent. These processes are defined into Core and Supporting functions. This unit gives and in-depth knowledge of the processes and how they are interrelated. A learner will be able to understand the internal processes of a business by each component and what is their importance in making a business successful, both individually and collectively.
06. Introduction to Finance (BM6-IF)
Financial matters of any organisation play a very viral role towards its success. In this unit and introduction is given to the financial aspects that regulate the flow of funds in an organisation and how a track of finances circulating is kept. A learner of this unit will be able to understand and appreciate the value of financial operations towards saving resources and accurate allocation of funds where needed.
Tourism and Hospitality Units
- Tourism and Hospitality Business Management (THM1-THBM)
Both Tourism and Hospitality are industry and hence considered as a business providing goods and services. Therefore, the issue related to management of this industry are treated as a specific branch of business management. In this unit a learner is able to understand the management issues of tourism and hospitality industry and demonstrate better in finding and implementing solutions related to the industry.
02. Services Marketing and Customer Service (THM2-SMCS)
In these industries, customer interaction ratio is very high and therefore it is essential that a professional must be aware at all time of the services available in the market and what their customer can expect from them to make their experience comfortable. It is also vital to understand customer expectations because customer mix and base is very large and culturally diverse as compared to many other industries. A learner of this unit will be able to understand better its customers’ expectations.
03. Accounting and Finance (THM3-AF)
Like any other industry, keeping a well-documented track of its financial resources and their allocation plays a very important role in success or failure of the venture. This unit provides a good understanding of not just the financial and accounting needed for tourism and hospitality, but also gives practical insight that will make its learner familiar with systems this industry uses.
04. Academic and Professional Development (THM4-APD)
In Tourism and Hospitality industry trends and customer expectations are fast changing and developing. It is vital for success of such industry to keep an eye on new trends and availability of newer services in the market. Therefore, developing staff skills academically and professionally are essential to keep up with the pace. This unit sheds light on the ways by which the need for development is realised and then appropriate steps may be taken to address those needs.
05. Events Management (THM5-EM)
For both Tourism and Hospitality industry, creating, promoting and organising different events is an essential activity to attract more business. Be it a gig on the beech or a seminar or conference in a hotel hall, it requires great efforts and coordination to produce a successful event. In this unit a learner will understand how different departments come together to engage in a coordinated effort in delivering a successful event by utilising minimum resources.
06. Development of Tourism and Hospitality Industry (THM6-DTHI)
As a quickly changing and more demanding industry which has a very large base of clients from diverse and versatile market from different cultures and communities, this industry must be an outlook for new attractions, services and venues to attract more customers. This is why novelty is a key success factor in this industry. In this unit a learner learns about the possible areas and ways in which this industry can progress to provide more goods and services to satisfy its ever-growing demands.
